    How to apply

    On-grid customer should get pre-vetting and installation permit or guidelines from Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) on the ideal installation capacity

    • Acceptance standards

      Quotations from vendors that meet the below standards will be accepted 
      • Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) or regulatory aligned standards
      • High equipment standards, warranties and liabilities e.g. minimum of 15 years equipment warranty, 30 years guaranteed solar performance, 12 years guarantee on invertor
      • Independent verification standards such as compliance certification capabilities from BPC
      • Smart tracking capabilities, equipment anti-tempering solutions and usage app(s)
      • Correlating installation insurances and accredited technicians
      • ERB registered engineers to be part of the installation team
      • High-roof installation capabilities and qualifications
      • Quality installation or mounting rack such as aluminium or roof-safe alternatives to avert leakages
      • Vendor to have BPC Roof Top installation experience totalling at least 1 Mega Watt
      • Customer service and after-sales care support for at least one year post installation

    • Documents required

      Basic loan application requirements
      • Valid Omang
      • For non–citizens; passport, valid work and residence permit
      • Current payslip or most recent (within recent 3 months)
      • Completed application form
      • Salary account with Absa Bank or three months bank statements from your current bank
      • Confirmation of employment
      • Confirmation of physical address
      • Copy of your contract if you are employed on a contract basis
      • Marriage certificate if you are married, and spousal consent if married in community of property and Form B
      • Form A if you are married out of community of property
      • Credit Life is compulsory
      • Home-owners Insurance Cover (incorporating the solar solution) compulsory.
      • Balances of all loans and credit cards

      • Copy of title deed and identity documents for the property due to be installed and consent if in different names (affidavit)
