  • What is Youth Hub?

    Youth Hub is designed to help your child make the transition from the school world to the working world.

     

    The Youth Hub offers an online career development programme that teaches vital people, money and entrepreneurial skills so that young people can use the gap between school and work to grow into the professionals they want to be.

     

    They will also acquire work and people skills through our ReadytoWork program that will help them grow to their full potential. These programmes are geared towards making them ready for work and ready for life.

  • How does it work?

    The Youth Hub is an online platform dedicated to building capacity as well as upskilling youth aged between 18 and 35. The Youth Hub is being implemented in partnership with a youth-owned entity, IBranch Recruiters.

     

    It will utilise our existing ReadytoWork programme and will connect participants with human resource practitioners/recruiters.

  • Why is Absa doing it?

    As Absa Bank Botswana, we recognise the many obstacles that young people face when trying to secure employment or start their own businesses.

     

    The Youth Hub was established as a solution for the challenges that young people face in their endeavor to become economically active and financially independent. As such, its main mandate is to support youth in their transition from academia to the world of work.

  • What does it entail?

    The Youth Hub will feature a career development programme that focuses on upskilling youth and assisting them with becoming employed.

     

    The specific services include a career services programme such as CV writing, interviewing skills, email and SMS Job notifications, preparation for aptitude tests, industrial training, and internships.

     

    Moreover, the Youth Hub will provide entrepreneurship development through the mentorship of youth entrepreneurs in partnership with the Enterprise and Supply Chain Development (ESD) Programme and masterclasses with experts on various aspects of entrepreneurship.

  • Who qualifies for this programme?

    • Our ReadyToWork programme is open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 35
    • Our Career Development Programme is open to Absa account holders through iBranch
